Dort laufen Signale für Drohneneinsätze im Nahen Osten. Stuttgart bleibt ebenfalls wichtig. Hier sitzen die Zentralkommandos für Afrika und Europa.
Der Fokus der möglichen Reduzierung liegt auf Bayern. In Grafenwöhr ist eine Kampfbrigade nur rotierend stationiert. Ein Abzug ohne Ersatz ist möglich. Auch Vilseck steht im Raum. Konkrete Entscheidungen fehlen.
In Mainz-Kastel bei Wiesbaden war die Stationierung des Typhon-Raketensystems geplant. Das System kann Mittelstreckenraketen starten. Dazu zählen Tomahawk-Marschflugkörper mit bis zu 2000 Kilometern Reichweite und SM-6-Raketen mit 370 Kilometern Reichweite.
Russland hat in Kaliningrad Iskander-Raketen stationiert. Das gilt seit 2017 als Problem. Deutschland wartet auf US-Systeme. Die Lieferung ist offen. Ein europäisches System könnte bis zu zehn Jahre dauern.
Der nächste NATO-Gipfel findet Anfang Juli in der Türkei statt.
