የእስልምና እምነት ተከታዮች ወደ ሳዑዲ አረብያ ቅዱስ ከተማ መካ በመጓዝ በሚያደርጉት ዓመታዊው የሃጅ ሐይማኖታዊ ስርዓት ላይ በተከሰተው ከፍተኛ ሙቀት ምክንያት በመቶዎች የሚቆጠሩ ምዕመናን ህይወታቸው ማለፉን ተከትሎ፣ አንድ ሳምንት ለሚጠጋ ጊዜ የተካሄደው የሃጅ ስነ-ሥርዓት ዛሬ ረቡዕ እንደሚጠናቀቅ የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር መስሪያ ቤቱ አስታውቋል።ለሃጅ ከተጓዙት ሰዎች ውስጥ በትንሹ 550 ሰዎች ከሙቀት ጋር በተያያዘ ህመም ምክንያት መሞታቸውን እና አብዛኞቹ ግብፃውያን መሆናቸውን ዲፕሎማቶች ለፈረንሳዩ የዜና አገልግሎት አዣንስ ፍራንስ ፕሬስ አስታውቀዋል።
ሮይተርስ የሟቾቹን ቁጥር ማረጋገጥ ባይችልም ላለፉት 30 ዓመታት በተካሄደው የሃጅ ሐይማኖታዊ ስርዓት ወቅት በድንኳን ውስጥ በሚፈጠሩ የእሳት ቃጠሎዎች፣ መረጋገጦች እና ሌሎች አደጋዎች በመቶዎች የሚቆጠሩ ሰዎች ህይወት እንደሚያልፍ አመልክቷል።
ሃጅ፣ ከ14 ምዕተ ዓመታት በፊት ነብዩ መሀመድ ለተከታዮቻቸው ባስተማሩት መሠረት ሙስሊሞች ሐይማኖታዊ ስርአቶችን ለመፈፀም ወደ መካ የሚያደርጉት ጉዞ ሲሆን በዚህ አመት ከ1.8 ሚሊየን በላይ ምዕመናን ይታደማሉ ተብሎ እንደሚጠበቅ ተገልጿል።
