In einem ersten Schritt hatte sich Israel im Gaza-Streifen bis zu einer festgelegten Linie zurückgezogen.
„Das ist ein großartiger Tag“, sagt Trump während seines Besuchs in Israel. „Das ist ein völlig neuer Anfang, und ich glaube, so etwas hat es noch nie gegeben. Die Liebe auf den Straßen war einfach unglaublich. Es war einfach ein großartiger Tag.“
Nach mehr als zwei Jahren endete damit ein Krieg, der am 7. Oktober 2023 durch den Überfall auf Israel durch die Terror-Organisation Hamas begann. 1200 Menschen wurden brutal ermordet, 251 wurden nach Gaza entführt.
