Diungkapnya, hal itu ia lihat ketika mengunjungi tambang galian C itu pada 2021 atau sebelum menjabat sebagai Gubernur Jawa Barat.
Dedi menyebut aktivitas penambangan tidak memenuhi standar keselamatan kerja.
Sayangnya, kata Dedi, saat itu dirinya tak memiliki 'power' yang kuat untuk menghentikan izin penambangan.
Kemudian, Mantan Bupati Purwakarta ini juga menduga jika pekerja tambang di Gunung Kuda tak mempunyai kemampuan yang mempuni di bidang tersebut, selain faktor kelalaian.
Kini, setelah tragedi menewaskan belasan warga Jawa Barat yang sedang bekerja mencari nafkah untuk keluarganya, Dedi langsung mengambil langkah tegas.
Dia memerintahkan ESDM Jawa Barat untuk menutup lokasi tambang Gunung Kuda secara permanen.
Sementara itu, Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Barat melalui Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Herman Suryatman, mengatakan, aktivitas empat yayasan tambang tersebut sudah resmi dihentikan sementara.
Pemilik tambang batu tersebut juga telah diamankan polisi untuk dimintai keterangan.
