AI is changing the world faster than traditional education can keep up.

Skills that were valuable for decades can become outdated within years — or even months.

So one of the biggest advantages today may not be WHAT you know.

It's knowing HOW TO LEARN.

Andrew Carnegie had very little formal schooling. His family struggled with poverty, he started working as a child, yet eventually became one of the wealthiest businessmen of his era.

School ended early for Carnegie.

Learning didn't.

In this video, we use his incredible journey to understand a 4-step system for becoming dangerously self-educated:

E.D.G.E.

## THE E.D.G.E. SYSTEM

E — EXPLORE

What should I learn?

Instead of allowing algorithms to decide what you consume, create your own syllabus around the life you want.

Business? Learn sales, marketing, finance and psychology.

Creator? Learn storytelling, writing, editing and distribution.

Self-education begins with direction.

D — DEEPEN

How do I turn information into capability?

20 videos about investing don't make you an investor.

10 podcasts about business don't make you good at business.

Don't measure education by how much you've consumed.

Ask:

"What can I do today that I couldn't do 6 months ago?"

G — GENERATE

Don't just learn writing — publish.

Don't just learn coding — build.

Don't just learn sales — sell.

Don't just learn AI — create something with it.

Remember:

Input → Output → Feedback → Improvement.

Doing isn't something that comes AFTER learning.

Doing is part of learning.

E — EXPAND

Who can help me learn faster?

Learn from mentors, peers, experts, communities and people operating one level ahead of you.

Instead of asking:

"How do I become successful?"

Ask:

"How did you solve THIS specific problem?"

Explore gives you Direction.
Deepen gives you Skill.
Generate gives you Experience.
Expand gives you Speed.

Together, they give you an E.D.G.E.

## CARNEGIE'S 4 TEACHERS

Carnegie didn't learn from only one place.

His four teachers were:

• Books
• People
• Observation
• Experience

As a working boy, Carnegie benefited when Colonel James Anderson opened his personal library to young workers.

Decades later, Carnegie would spend enormous amounts of his own fortune building libraries and expanding access to knowledge.

## THE BIGGEST LESSON

Carnegie watched technology destroy his father's profession.

Steam-powered looms changed the game.

Years later, Carnegie saw another technological shift coming: steel.

But this time, instead of resisting change, he learned, adapted and moved with it.

Today, AI could be our steam loom.

It could also be our Bessemer Process.

The question isn't whether technology will change.

The question is:

Can you educate yourself fast enough to change with it?

## FINAL THOUGHT

Carnegie's formal education ended when he was a child.

His self-education continued throughout his life.

In a world where today's skills can become obsolete tomorrow, your greatest advantage may be your ability to learn again.

School may end.

Your education shouldn't.
