What If Color Disappeared Forever?
In 1986, a painter in New York woke up after a small car accident and the world had turned grey. His wife, his food, even his own paintings. Doctors checked his eyes. They were perfect. So where did the color go?In this animated story, we explore what would happen if the whole world lost its color. You'll learn how color really works (light waves, cones, rods and the brain), why losing it would make life dangerous, the Pacific island of Pingelap where nearly one in ten people are born completely color-blind, what we would lose and gain, and the twist: color was never really "out there" at all.
