ABD’nin körfez bölgesinde deniz gücü olarak neleri var? Bölgede ABD’nin toplam 9 savaş gemisi var. Kızıldenizde iki destroyer devriye geziyor USS FORREST SHERMAN ve TRUXTON. Bölgedeki en güçlü donanma ise Basra Körfezinde. Burada USS CARL VINSON uçak gemisi başta olmak üzereUSS PRINCETON Füze Kruvazörü, USS MILIU, USS STERETT ve USS WAYNE E. MEYER Destroyerleri hazırda bekliyor. USS Thomas Hudner savaş gemisi ise Körfez’e doğru yolda. Bu gemiler uzun menzilli füzelere sahip, özellikle Tomahawk füzeleri ile donatılmış durumdalar. Bu sayede kara hedeflerine de saldırabiliyorlar. Gemilerin Hava savunma sistemleri ise son derece güçlü ve hassas, hedef kaçırmıyorlar. Aynı anda onlarca hedefi izleyip, füzeleri imha ediyorlar. Listeye uçak gemisi de eklenince bölgede caydırıcı güç olarak öne çıkıyor. CARL VINSON Uçak gemisi nükleer güçle çalışıyor ve en az 75 savaş uçağı taşıma kapasitene sahip. ABD'nin Orta Doğu'da toplam 46 askeri üssü bulunuyor. Bu üsler 11 farklı ülkeye dağılmış durumda ve yaklaşık 45.000 askeri personeli görev halinde
