Gian Marco Chiocci, direttore del Tg1, ha ribadito la sua appartenenza politica e il rapporto personale con la premier Giorgia Meloni in un’intervista rilasciata a Telenord. «Sono di destra e molto grato a Giorgia Meloni. La premier non metta becco sul Tg1», ha detto il direttore, sottolineando come la presidente del Consiglio «risponda a tutti, una cosa che i politici non fanno» e che «lei è come la vedete». «Io sono di parte, perché la conosco, perché sono amico suo», ha aggiunto.Le parole di Chiocci hanno provocato una reazione interna. Poche ore dopo la pubblicazione dell’intervista, Caterina Proietti, componente del Comitato di redazione del Tg1, ha inviato una lettera ai colleghi in cui definisce le affermazioni del direttore «lesive della dignità professionale» dei giornalisti che hanno fatto la storia della testata. Proietti ha in particolare sollevato dubbi sul principio di indipendenza tra informazione e potere: «Sapere che la presidente del Consiglio non mette becco perché si fida del lavoro del direttore, apre dubbi su quelli che devono essere i rapporti di indipendenza del giornalismo dal governo di turno», si legge nella nota.
