Kedatangan Menteri ESDM Bahlil Lahadalia di Papua Disambut Aksi Tolak Tambang Nikel Raja Ampat
KOMPAS.TV - Kedatangan Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia di Papua disambut aksi unjuk rasa dari sekelompok massa yang menolak aktivitas pertambangan nikel di Raja Ampat.Sejumlah pendemo, yang terdiri dari aktivis lingkungan, membentangkan spanduk penolakan di pintu kedatangan Bandara DEO Sorong.
Mereka meminta agar aktivitas pertambangan nikel di Raja Ampat dihentikan secara permanen karena dinilai merusak sektor pariwisata yang menjadi andalan daerah tersebut.
Menanggapi hal tersebut, Bahlil Lahadalia langsung meninjau tambang nikel milik PT Gag Nikel di Pulau Gag, Kabupaten Raja Ampat, pada Sabtu siang.
Ia menjelaskan bahwa tidak ada pencemaran lingkungan yang terjadi pada tahun ini karena proses produksi tambang baru akan dimulai pada 2024. Pemerintah pun berkomitmen untuk melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh terhadap izin tambang yang ada di Pulau Gag.
Sementara itu, Gubernur Papua Barat Daya Elisa Kambu menyebut bahwa video yang beredar luas di media sosial bukanlah rekaman dari aktivitas penambangan di Pulau Gag.
