明治十一年、東京下町を舞台に、
逆刃刀を腰に下げ、不殺を誓う旅の剣客・緋村剣心が、
神谷活心流の師範代・神谷薫をはじめとする仲間たちとの出会いと、
過去の因縁によって戦うこととなる宿敵たちとの対峙を描いた、
新しい時代を懸命に生きる人々の物語となっている。
