Présent à Bambali à l’occasion du lancement du projet agro-industriel de Sadio Mané, estimé à 11,7 milliards FCFA, Ousmane Sonko s’est permis une touche d’humour à l’endroit de l’international sénégalais.

Évoquant l’éventualité de voir Sadio Mané se lancer un jour en politique, Ousmane Sonko a déclaré : « Sadio Mané ne fait pas de la politique. Rien ne l’interdit. Peut-être qu'il sera candidat en 2029. »

Faisant référence à l’ancien footballeur devenu président du Liberia, George Weah, il poursuit : « Mais si l’aventure vous tentait, Sadio, sachez que vous aurez en face de moi Ousmane Sonko.
