El canciller ruso, Sergei Lavrov, afirmó en una entrevista para la cadena estadounidense NBC que no había ninguna reunión planeada entre el presidente ruso, Vladímir Putin, y el presidente ucraniano, Volodímir Zelenski. Además, aseguró que Putin estaba listo para encontrarse con Zelenski cuando existiera una agenda lista para ello, algo que aún no sucede. Lavrov también aseveró que habían estado de acuerdo en flexibilizarse en diversos temas expuestos por Donald Trump durante el encuentro en Alaska, sin embargo, sugirió que la parte ucraniana había estado obstaculizando la agenda de la reunión.
