A dirlo è il senatore della Lega Massimiliano Romeo, a margine del corteo “Padroni a casa nostra – Senza paura”, organizzato a Milano da movimenti patrioti europei con partenza da corso Palestro. Romeo ha illustrato la posizione del partito su due assi: sostenere i popoli nei loro paesi d’origine e rimpatriare i clandestini, sottolineando che dal 2022 i rimpatri sono raddoppiati, passando da 3.500 a 7.000. Sul motivo della presenza in piazza, ha dichiarato: “Siamo qui per difendere la nostra terra, per difendere l’orgoglio leghista, e soprattutto per chiedere - ha proseguito Romeo - Che i nostri cittadini e le nostre imprese, in una situazione di grave difficoltà causata dal costo dell’energia, vengano aiutati”. Il senatore ha quindi rivolto una richiesta all’Unione europea: applicare la deroga al Patto di stabilità e non sanzionare l’Italia. In assenza di un accordo, ha avvertito, il paese dovrà “fare da sola”. Sulla dissociazione di Forza Italia dalla manifestazione, Romeo ha ridimensionato la questione: “Sarà stata una minima parte di Forza Italia che evidentemente non ha compreso il motivo della nostra manifestazione”, ha concluso Romeo.
