Chaque jour, Alexandra Oxacelay vient en aide aux sans-abris et aux pauvres du Grand-Duché. Les soupes populaires de son ONG accueillent de plus en plus de personnes, victimes de l’inflation, de la crise du logement ou issus de l’immigration.
Parmi ceux-là, Stephan, venu de Hongrie, qui vit sous une tente depuis sept ans – hivers compris. Souffrant de dorsalgie chronique, Serge ne parvient pas à obtenir un logement abordable à cause de la hausse drastique des loyers. Une crise que le chercheur Antoine Paccoud explique par une intense spéculation immobilière et par le fait que l’État s’est lancé trop tard dans une politique de logement social. Cette explosion de la pauvreté menace la cohésion sociale. Au chômage, Yannick se sent abandonné par les décideurs politiques. Il plaide pour une limitation de l’immigration. De son côté, Alexandra Oxacelay ne veut pas faire de différence entre les bénéficiaires de l’action de son ONG. Selon elle, dans le pays le plus riche d’Europe, il faut aider tout le monde.
