En s’attaquant aux fondements philosophiques et moraux de l’humanisme, l’animalisme ne vise-t-il pas à détruire les libertés individuelles qui sont à la base de notre pacte social ? Il est aujourd’hui plus que jamais nécessaire de défendre la consommation de viande, non parce qu’elle serait absolument bonne en elle-même, mais parce qu’elle représente un moindre mal au regard de ce que nous proposent aujourd’hui ses adversaires. En effet, le carnivorisme raisonnable et raisonné est devenu l’emblème de la fière résistance d’un style de vie humaniste, tempérant et modéré, tolérant et respectueux, non seulement des humains, mais aussi des animaux.
Pour Jean-Claude Poizat, agrégé de philosophie, docteur en sciences politique et auteur de "Pro Steak - Le carnivorisme est un humanisme", tout doit être fait pour limiter le plus possible la souffrance animale. Mais ces exigences n’impliquent pas que l’on doive renoncer totalement, ni aujourd’hui ni demain, à l’élevage ou à la nourriture carnée.
