JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Rapat Paripurna DPR pada 28 Mei menyetujui Revisi Undang-Undang TNI dan Polri menjadi usulan RUU Inisiatif DPR.Pemerintah akan segera mengirimkan surat presiden guna menunjuk wakil pemerintah untuk membahas 2 draf RUU tersebut.
Revisi UU TNI dan UU Polri ramai dikritik masyarakat sipil karena banyak substansi draf RUU dinilai bermasalah, seperti TNI aktif dapat menduduki jabatan sipil serta penambahan usia pensiun.
Perwira diperpanjang dari 58 tahun ke 60 tahun, serta Bintara dan Tamtama dari 53 tahun ke 58 tahun.
Bahkan khusus jabatan fungsional, prajurit bisa berdinas hingga usia 65 tahun.
Sama halnya dengan RUU TNI, sejumlah pasal dalam RUU Polri juga disorot, diantaranya soal memberi Polri wewenang melakukan penyadapan dan kegiatan intelijen keamanan.
Kewenangan Polri juga diperluas dalam pengamanan Ruang Siber, kepolisian dapat memblokir atau memutus akses sebuah konten digital.
