In the heart of Kolkata, Rahul Gupta, son of spice-shop owner Murari Gupta, became the victim of a deadly honey-trap kidnapping. Addicted to luxury and women, Rahul was targeted by a gang that brought Shahin Pathan alias Puja, to lure him in. One night at a bar in China Town, Tangra, Puja drugged Rahul’s drink, and he was abducted and taken to an abandoned railway quarter in Titagarh. The kidnappers demanded ₹1 crore ransom, later reduced to ₹30 lakh, which his father managed to pay. Rahul was released near Sodepur station, leading to a full-scale investigation by Kolkata Police.
