Indonesia Earthquake LIVE: 7.7 Magnitude Quake Hits Flores | Buildings Collapse

A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Indonesia, killing at least five people and causing buildings and homes to collapse across parts of East Nusa Tenggara. Strong tremors were felt across the region, followed by several aftershocks and widespread panic among residents.

A tsunami warning was issued following the undersea quake, prompting people in coastal areas to move to higher ground. The warning was later lifted after authorities determined that the immediate tsunami threat had passed. Waves measuring less than one metre were recorded in some areas.

Rescue and damage assessment operations are underway as authorities inspect collapsed buildings, damaged infrastructure and power outages across the affected regions. Teams continue to assess the full extent of the destruction as further aftershocks remain a concern.
