Can a pulsejet engine actually power a bicycle? In today’s insane engineering experiment, we took a custom DIY pulse jet engine, mounted it directly onto the back of a bicycle, and took it to an abandoned airstrip to build and test the first-ever jet-powered bicycle in Iran!
Our initial goal was to push past 40 km/h solely on jet thrust without pedaling. From dealing with transport logistics, fixing broken parts, sourcing missing gas nozzles, to setting up high-pressure gas bottles and air pumps, this project was packed with tension, crazy challenges, and pure adrenaline.
Once the pulsejet roared to life, it literally glowed red hot, delivering earsplitting thrust and sending the bike flying across the runway! But did our welds hold up against the massive heat and vibrating force?
