This is the weekly featured dungeon this week, and the master one to do this time around. Although bizarrely, this is the only dungeon that seems to have master mode permanently available, which would be nice if other dungeons had that feature. As for the run itself, it wasn't so bad. First encounter is certainly the worst of them all, as the boss can melt you in the middle of DPS. The totems are nearly always spread, so it can be a bit of a pain. The second boss is more or less free, and the final boss isn't too bad unless you play it poorly, or you end up having the buff not trade away correctly. The totems dropping are still a little bit weird too. I went with Thunderlord over Queenbreaker on this as it ended up giving me way quicker super regen. It was also nice having the extra bolt charge healing and damage resist during DPS, which seemed to work well in this dungeon overall. I think Queenbreaker would especially be better on the final boss, but on the second boss Thunderlord seemed to work better with the prolonged damage phase and getting multiple Thundercrashes.
I know a lot of people rate this as the peak dungeon, but for me personally I think it's one of the dungeon experiences I enjoyed the least. It's at this point where the collectibles changed from being all available from the start, and ended up requiring 3-4 clears at minimum to get them all. So my main memory of this dungeon is being exhausted having to solo it 5+ times to get the guides out in a timely manner. It's a unique problem for somebody who does both solo challenges and creates guides, but it's one of the downsides to how they've changed the collectibles in these dungeons. Maybe without that experience my opinion of it would be higher.
Anyway, as mentioned on my previous master videos, I'll be revisiting all of the master dungeons this season. For the 3 that don't have a master variant, I'll probably also do a lower power level or something to simulate the master experience. I'm planning to do them all on this similar setup for consistency-sake, as there's very little loadout swaps needed and I can foresee it being viable for every dungeon there is. There's more optimal setups, faster ways to do these, and you can do more swaps to make things much more efficient. But I've grown a little tired of needing to create individual loadouts for everything again, so my goal is to have them all with a similar setup with minimal swaps needed. I do think loadouts are both a great and essential function that's needed in the game, I've just always found it very tedious having to setup loadouts in the first place, but even more so constantly needing to play the menu game in the middle of combat. I don't think it needs to be changed, nor am I advocating for that. It's just a part of the game I don't really find fun personally.
