Sondengänger: Wo hört die Schatzsuche auf, wo fängt der Diebstahl an? | BR24 vor Ort

Mit einer Metallsonde losziehen und schauen, was sich im Boden so alles findet: Für viele ist das ein fesselndes Hobby. Etwa 15.000 Sondengänger gibt es laut Schätzungen in Bayern. Unter ihnen sind harmlose Hobby-Historiker – aber auch Raubgräber, die archäologische Grabungen und Bodendenkmäler plündern. Bayern war dabei lange besonders beliebt, denn hier galt bis vor drei Jahren eine vergleichsweise liberale Regelung: Ein Fund gehörte zur Hälfte dem Finder. Weil das scharenweise illegale Schatzsucher anlockte, hat Bayern die Eigentumsregeln geändert – was Sondengänger aber nicht einsehen. In diesem Film treffen wir einen Vertreter der Szene, der darlegt warum, besuchen einen Archäologen, der berichtet, welche Schäden Sondengänger oft anrichten und erfahren aus der Denkmalpflege, was das für das kulturelle Erbe Bayerns bedeutet.
