✈️ What Really Happened on Flydubai Flight FZ1073?

A Flydubai flight travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv experienced a terrifying mid-air cockpit incident on 30 September 2026.

The aircraft reportedly plunged nearly 14,000 feet during a violent altercation in the cockpit. According to Israeli officials and subsequent reports, the co-pilot allegedly attacked the Indian captain, Smit Machchhar, who managed to open the cockpit door despite being injured. Passengers and other crew members then intervened, while additional pilots helped regain control of the aircraft.

The Boeing 737 was diverted and landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with all passengers and crew accounted for.

The UAE has launched an official investigation into the incident, including whether it involved terrorism, prior planning or other motives. Authorities have urged the public to rely on verified information while the investigation continues.
