Korban diketahui bernama Indra Guru Wardana (24), tewas ditembak di Kampung Ulakin, Distrik Kolf Braza, Asmat, Papua Selatan, pada Minggu (21/9) lalu.
Polres Asmat bersama TNI kemudian melakukan operasi pencarian.
Kapolres Asmat, AKBP Wahyu Basuki, memimpin langsung operasi pencarian tersebut dengan mengerahkan lebih dari 20 personel gabungan Polres Asmat dan Koramil Agats.
Rombongan bergerak dari Kampung Binam, Distrik Suator menuju Kampung Ulakin menggunakan empat unit speed boat, sekaligus melakukan penyisiran di sepanjang aliran sungai.
Dalam penyisiran, polisi menemukan jenazah korban mengambang di dekat pohon dengan kondisi tubuh diikat menggunakan mesin katinting.
Menurutnya, hal ini sengaja dilakukan KKB atau pasukan TPNPB-OPM untuk mempersulit proses pencarian jenazah korban.
Setelah berhasil ditemukan, jenazah langsung dievakuasi menuju Puskesmas Suator untuk dilakukan pemeriksaan medis dan visum.
Aparat keamanan memastikan akan terus melakukan pengejaran terhadap pelaku penembakan yang hingga kini masih buron.
