Condenan a tres exparamilitares de Guatemala por violar a mujeres de la comunidad Maya Achi

Un tribunal guatemalteco condenó a tres exparamilitares a 40 años de prisión cada uno por ser culpables de crímenes de lesa humanidad por haber violado a seis mujeres de la comunidad indígena Maya Achí entre 1981 y 1983, en el punto álgido del sangriento genocidio en Guatemala, que contó con el respaldo de Estados Unidos.

En otro juicio que se celebró en 2022, otros cinco paramilitares fueron condenados por violar a mujeres de la comunidad Maya Achí. Al menos 36 sobrevivientes de esta comunidad han denunciado haber sido violadas durante la guerra por paramilitares y soldados financiados por Estados Unidos.
