Krise im Nahen Osten: Nato wehrt ballistische Rakete nahe Türkei abAnkara (Türkei) – Die Luftabwehr der Nato hat nach Angaben der Türkei eine vom Iran abgefeuerte Rakete abgefangen. Das Geschoss sei gestoppt worden, ehe es den türkischen Luftraum erreicht habe, hieß es am Mittwoch vom türkischen Verteidigungsministerium. Wer genau die Rakete abgefangen hat, ist zurzeit noch unklar. Die Nato geht davon aus, dass der Iran absichtlich eine Rakete auf das Bündnismitglied Türkei abgefeuert hat.
Laut türkischem Verteidigungsministerium hatte die iranische Rakete zuvor den Irak und Syrien überflogen. Ein Teil der Abwehrrakete fiel demnach in der Grenzprovinz Hatay auf eine freie Fläche. Es habe weder Tote noch Verletzte gegeben. In einem entsprechenden Statement heißt es: „Wir erinnern daran, dass wir uns das Recht vorbehalten, auf jede feindselige Haltung gegenüber unserem Land zu reagieren.“
