Rajwinder Sidhu Sing, 38enne di origine indiana, fu trovato morto il 26 maggio del 2024 in un fondo agricolo di Laterza (Taranto) e il titolare del terreno, Giovanni Giannico, fu indagato per omicidio colposo e caporalato dalla Procura di Taranto. All’epoca dei fatti sostenne di aver trovato il lavoratore riverso per terra, svenuto e privo di conoscenza, versione che non convinse gli inquirenti soprattutto per le condizioni nelle quali fu rinvenuto il corpo suscitando dubbi anche l’orario del ritrovamento.
Ora due persone sono state arrestate e condotte in carcere nell’ambito dell’operazione “I giorni del cielo”, condotta dai carabinieri di Taranto su disposizione del gip Mariano Robertiello che ha condiviso la richiesta dei pm Filly Di Tursi e Francesco Ciardo della Procura di Taranto guidata da Eugenia Pontassuglia.
