LONDON, KOMPAS.TV - PM Inggris Sir Keir Starmer mengatakan bahwa ada tekanan terkait negaranya akan mengakui negara Palestina.Hal ini disampaikan dalam konferensi pers di London pada Selasa (29/7/2025) waktu setempat.
"Saya dapat mengonfirmasi bahwa Inggris akan mengakui Negara Palestina oleh Majelis Umum Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa pada bulan September kecuali pemerintah Israel mengambil langkah-langkah substantif untuk mengakhiri situasi yang mengerikan di Gaza, menyetujui gencatan senjata, dan berkomitmen pada perdamaian jangka panjang yang berkelanjutan," ujarnya Starmer.
Dirinya mengatakan bahwa ada tekanan yang didapat terkait keputusan tersebut.
"Tujuan kami tetaplah Israel yang aman dan terjamin, berdampingan dengan negara Palestina yang layak dan berdaulat. Namun saat ini, tujuan tersebut berada di bawah tekanan yang belum pernah terjadi sebelumnya," ujar Starmer.
