PM Yunani juga membuka mata PM Israel Netanyahu bahwa saat ini sekutu Zionis semakin berkurang di tengah puluhan negara mendukung Palestina Mereka.
Hal ini disampaikan oleh Mitsotais dalam sidang Umum PBB pada Jumat (26/9/2025).
"Yunani mempertahankan kemitraan strategis dengan Israel, tetapi ini tidak menghalangi kami untuk berbicara secara terbuka dan terus terang," kata Mitsotakis, Jumat, dilansir Arab News.
Mitsotakis menegaskan bahwa Israel akan kehilangan sekutu mereka jika tak membuka kesempatan adanya solusi dua negara (two state solution).
Yunani sendiri, tidak bergabung dengan kekuatan Eropa termasuk Prancis dan Inggris, yang dalam beberapa hari terakhir mengakui negara Palestina di tengah kekhawatiran mereka terhadap Israel.
Namun, Israel juga menghadapi kritik publik yang luas di Yunani, dan pendahulu Mitsotakis, Alexis Tsipras, yang berhaluan kiri, telah mendesak pengakuan negara Palestina.
Meski terancam ditinggal sekutunya, namun Netanyahu tetap kekeuh tak ingin adanya solusi dua negara.
PM Israel ini mengecam negara-negara Barat yang akan merangkul Palestina.
Netanyahu juga menuduh negara Barat menyerah di bawah tekanan dari para aktivis dan pihak lain dengan menuduh Israel melakukan kejahatan perang dan genosida.
Pemimpin Israel itu menanggapi dengan tegas serangkaian langkah diplomatik yang diambil oleh sekutu-sekutu utama Amerika Serikat (AS), yang memperdalam isolasi internasional Israel atas tindakannya dalam perang yang telah berlangsung hampir dua tahun melawan militan Hamas di Gaza.
