Objective:
Test whether an espresso machine (Gemilai 3007Z) can brew quality filter coffee without a traditional pour-over kettle.

Method:

Used V60 setup under espresso machine's group head

Adjusted pre-infusion settings (P1=8sec, P2=10sec) to mimic 30-second bloom

Brewed two cups:

Machine brew (98°C, 18g coffee, 300g water)

Manual pour-over for comparison

Used Nicaraguan Geisha (anaerobic natural process) ground medium-coarse

Results:

Machine brew: Sweeter, more rounded, with tangerine acidity

Manual brew: Brighter, more aromatic

Both produced excellent but distinct flavor profiles
