AHRTAL: „Der Katastrophenschutz hat völlig versagt“ – Bojanowski warnt vor neuer Flut!Axel Bojanowski warnt vor einer weiteren schweren Flut im Ahrtal. Grundlegende Fehler seien bislang nicht ausreichend behoben. Schon 1804 habe es an der Ahr ähnlich hohe Abflussmengen wie 2021 gegeben. Mit einer solchen Katastrophe habe man rechnen müssen.
Nach Angaben Bojanowskis wurde in Risikogebieten und alten Flussauen gebaut. Zudem erreichten rechtzeitige Warnungen der Meteorologen die Bevölkerung nicht. Auch Evakuierungen blieben aus.
Das Ahrtal sei wegen seiner engen und steilen Lage besonders flutgefährdet. Dem Fluss müsse bei Hochwasser mehr Raum gegeben werden. Das könne jedoch nicht kurzfristig umgesetzt werden. Auch das Warnsystem müsse instand gesetzt werden.
Bojanowski sagt, der Klimawandel könne Starkregen verschärfen. Die Ahrtalflut lasse sich aber auch ohne ihn erklären, da vergleichbare Hochwasser bereits früher auftraten.
Bei der Vorsorge für Wetterextreme bezeichnet er Deutschland außerhalb des Küstenschutzes als Entwicklungsland. Warnsysteme am Rhein und an der Elbe hätten sich dagegen bewährt. Ähnliche Strukturen seien auch an der Ahr nötig.
