El Museo del Prado ha experimentado en los últimos años una gran proyección tanto dentro del territorio español como más allá de nuestras fronteras. El programa denominado «Prado extendido» ha tenido por objetivo aumentar la relevancia de los fondos del museo depositados fuera de su sede mediante la revisión de los criterios que los impulsaron y el desarrollo de un conjunto de iniciativas de colaboración que han permitido trabajar estrechamente con las instituciones depositarias. A este programa han venido a sumarse otros que han recorrido toda la geografía española como «El arte que conecta» y «El Prado en las calles», este último implementado también en el ámbito internacional. Múltiples han sido también las actuaciones del museo en diferentes partes del mundo, en países como China, Japón o Australia, entre otros, donde se han llevado a cabo exposiciones y acciones de diverso tipo.Vídeo realizado para la exposición "Prado. Sharing the collection: a museum without frontiers
In recent years, the Museo del Prado has achieved an extremely high profile both within Spain and internationally. The “Extended Prado” programme has aimed to increase the importance of the Museum’s collections deposited on long-term loan outside the main building by reviewing the criteria that lead to their assignation and developing a series of collaborative initiatives which have made it possible to work closely with the borrowing institutions. This programme has been complemented by others that have travelled across Spain, such as “Art that Connects” and “The Prado on the Street”, the latter also implemented internationally. The Museum has also been present with numerous initiatives in different parts of the world, including China, Japan and Australia, where it has held exhibitions and organised a range of other activities.
