Esse ajuste deve começar pela calibragem dos pneus. O próprio manual recomenda aumentar de 2 a 3 libras, em primeiro lugar porque o carro vai andar em velocidades mais elevadas e em segundo lugar porque eles também vão suportar um peso maior.
A outra correção é a dos faróis, caso eles não tenham o ajuste automático, pois nesse caso os automóveis contam com um ajuste manual para abaixar os faróis. Isso deve ser feito porque o peso maior no porta-malas faz com que a frente do carro levante e seus faróis podem ofuscar outros motoristas na estrada.
