Ünlü islam düşünürlerinden İmam Gazali, hicrî beşinci asrın en büyük âlimlerinden biridir. Tûs'ta doğmuş, fıkıh, kelam, felsefe ve tasavvuf alanlarında derinleşerek "Hüccetü'l-İslam" unvanını almıştır. Nizamiye Medresesi'nde müderrislik yapmış, ardından inzivaya çekilerek hakikati kalbî bilgide aramıştır.İhyâü Ulûmi'd-Dîn, onun en manevi arayışının zirve eseridir. Dört ana bölümden oluşan kitap; ibadetler, âdetler, helak edici huylar ve kurtarıcı vasıflar etrafında insanın iç dünyasını yeniden inşa etmeyi hedeflemektedir Asırlardır okunan, tercüme edilen ve şerh edilen bu başyapıt, yalnızca bir ilmihal olarak kalmamaktadır; aslında bu eser bir ahlak, kalp ve hikmet rehberidir.

İhyâ'nın farklı Türkçe tercümelerini karşılaştırmalı olarak inceledik, klasik şerhlerden faydalandık ve İmam Gazali üzerine yazılmış akademik çalışmaları, biyografik kaynakları ve tasavvuf literatüründeki temel eserleri dikkatle taradık. Amacımız; eserin ruhunu bozmadan, sade ve akıcı bir Türkçe ile size ulaştırmaktı.
