Tesla has unveiled the new Roadster, and in classic Tesla fashion, they have some wild marketing stunts to go along with it. I love marketing stunts, because their goal is to convince you they’ve created the coolest thing ever, but when you start applying engineering logic to these stunts, sometimes they fall apart. So in this video, we’re going to look at the three major stunts, in order. First we’ve got the roadster climbing a wall and hanging upside down. Second, um… flying? The car does a kickflip over a bunch of other cars. Third, the car rockets to 60 miles per hour in under a second. So for each of these stunts, we’re going to play a game called “legit” or “nonsense” where we dive into the engineering of the stunt, and ultimately label it as legit, or nonsense.
