France is in the grip of political uncertainty after snap elections upset the balance of power in the country’s parliament. The hard-right National Rally party of Marine Le Pen scored highest in the first round, prompting other parties to strategically drop out of electoral races to build a barrage against the extreme right. But Le Pen’s party still ramped up its seat share, and she says its victory has only been postponed.
