Nepal is in turmoil as 13,000 prisoners escaped multiple jails amid deadly anti-government protests, which also led to the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The Nepali Army has been deployed to secure prisons, with clashes reported at Ramechhap District Prison and high security outside jails in Kathmandu. Videos show army personnel engaging with inmates at Dillibazar Jail, while police have retreated following violent protests. Tensions spilt over to the India–Nepal border, with 21 detainees in Bihar after escapees attempted to cross. The death toll has risen to 31.
