Is the AI bubble about to burst? Are global markets heading for a 2000 or 2008-style crash?

In July 2026, S&P cut Oracle’s credit rating to BBB-, just one notch above junk. In September, the US 10-year Treasury yield hit 5.2%, its highest level since 2007. And this year, foreign investors have pulled more than ₹3 lakh crore out of Indian equities.

In this video, we put today’s market side by side with the dot-com crash of 2000 and the global financial crisis of 2008, and check every major crash indicator: Shiller CAPE, the Buffett Indicator, S&P 500 concentration, margin debt, forward P/E, junk bond spreads and US bond yields.

Using a simple restaurant analogy, we explain what actually triggers a big crash. In 2000 it was companies with no earnings. In 2008 it was a broken chain of debt. Then we check whether either trigger exists in today’s AI-driven market, why Oracle’s rising debt and record CDS levels matter, and why the bond market may decide how deep the next correction goes.

Most importantly, we explain what all of this means for Indian investors: why FIIs are leaving India, where that money is going, and why keeping your entire portfolio in India, or in just ten US tech stocks, is a risk in itself.
