Sandhausen: Seit dem frühen Sonntagmorgen ist die Feuerwehr mit einem Großaufgebot im Hardtwald bei Sandhausen im Einsatz. Gegen 1:40 Uhr meldete ein Mountainbike-Fahrer, der im Landschaftsschutzgebiet unterwegs war, einen Vegetationsbrand. Das Feuer breitet sich im Bereich Zugmantel-Bandholz, rund 600 Meter südlich der L598, auf einer Fläche von etwa 60 bis 80 Quadratmetern aus.Da das Gelände nur schwer zugänglich ist, wurde zur Sicherstellung der Löschwasserversorgung neben der Feuerwehr Sandhausen auch Unterstützung aus Walldorf, Schwetzingen, Wiesloch und Nußloch sowie die Drohnengruppe aus Mühlhausen alarmiert. Diese überwacht das Waldgebiet aus der Luft mit einer Drohne.Insgesamt stehen den derzeit 64 Einsatzkräften rund 8.000 Liter Löschwasser zur Verfügung, wie Einsatzleiter Markus Zielbauer von der Feuerwehr Sandhausen mitteilt. Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass aktuell eine anhaltende Trockenheit herrscht, wodurch sich der Brand besonders schnell ausbreiten kann.
