I stopped into a neighborhood barbershop to meet Mita, a highly skilled female barber with years of experience under her belt. There is something so peaceful about the atmosphere here; despite the bustle of the city outside, the shop feels like a sanctuary where time slows down, and the focus is entirely on the craft.
Mita’s expertise is evident from the moment she begins the preparation. This isn't just a quick trim—it’s a methodical, relaxing ritual. You’ll see her expertly apply the warm lather before using a traditional straight razor with incredible precision. Her steady hand and gentle technique make this one of the most soothing experiences I’ve had on my travels. The rhythmic sound of the blade and the attention to detail provide a natural ASMR experience that I know many of you will appreciate.
As we finish up the shave and move into a calming post-shave routine, I’m reminded why I love documenting these local encounters. Mita’s talent is a testament to the high level of skill found in these Thai barbershops.
