Ketua Majelis Hakim, Syofia Marlianti, memerintahkan Jaksa Penuntut Umum menghadirkan Razman Nasution ke persidangan.
Namun jaksa menyatakan Razman tidak dapat hadir lantaran tengah menjalani perawatan kesehatan di Penang, Malaysia.
Bahkan Majelis Hakim memutuskan persidangan tetap dilanjutkan tanpa kehadiran terdakwa.
Mendengar hal itu, kuasa hukum Razman protes dan memilih walk out dari ruangan sidang.
Sementara itu, terdakwa Razman Arif Nasution divonis 1,5 tahun penjara atas kasus pencemaran nama baik terhadap pengacara Hotman Paris.
Adapun vonis dibacakan oleh Ketua Majelis Hakim Syofia Marlianti Tambunan di PN Jakarta Utara.
Dalam amar putusannya, Hakim menyatakan Razman terbukti melakukan tindak pidana mentransmisikan informasi elektronik yang menghina secara berlanjut.
Selain pidana penjara, Razman dijatuhi denda Rp 200 juta, namun jika denda tidak dibayarkan, maka diganti dengan 4 bulan kurungan penjara.
Di sisi lain, Hotman Paris menilai hakim berwenang menjatuhkan vonis meskipun Razman tidak hadir lantaran pemeriksaan telah selesai.
Vonis dapat dijatuhkan lantaran seluruh pemeriksaan, saksi, bukti, dan pembelaan telah selesai dalam persidangan.
