Diketahui, korban adalah AM (13), anak laki-laki yang ditemukan tewas di bawah Jembatan Kuranji, Padang, Sumatera Barat.
Diduga, ia tewas setelah disiksa polisi yang bertugas melerai tawuran pada Minggu (9/6/2024).
Kapolda Sumatera Barat, Irjen Pol Suharyono membantah AM tewas karena hal itu.
"Kami perlu luruskan di sini telah viral di media massa, adanya trial by the press bahwa polisi telah menganiaya seseorang sehingga berakibat hilangnya nyawa orang lain," katanya di Padang, Minggu (23/6/2024).
Menurutnya, AM tewas karena terjun ke jembatan berdasarkan kesaksian rekan korban berinisial A.
Suharyono lalu mengatakan, akan mencari penyebar narasi AM tewas karena disiksa oknum Polisi itu untuk dimintai keterangan.
