Shoot a handheld take and the app records exactly how the camera moved through space, frame by frame. Bring that motion into Blender (or any USD pipeline) and your virtual camera picks up the weight, sway and rhythm of a real camera operator, the kind of realism that's nearly impossible to fake by hand-keyframing.
That opens up two workflows:
VFX on top of real footage
Shoot the scene with your phone, a behind-the-scenes clip, a product shot, a plate for an ad, and use the clean recorded video itself as your background. Drop 3D elements, simulations, set extensions or props straight into the footage, with a virtual camera that already matches the real one. No manual tracking afterward.
A 3D reference for realistic camera moves
Sometimes you don't need the footage itself, just the motion. Record a walk-around of any object nearby (a chair, a box, whatever's at hand) and use that tracking data as a reference to reproduce the same move in a fully CG scene: a turntable around a car, a spin over a product on a table, a shot that pushes in and orbits an object on the floor. The result is camera movement with the natural feel of something actually filmed, applied to any 3D scene.
How it works
1) Point the phone at the floor and sweep it around until the surface locks.
2) Press and hold to place the reference — your scene's origin.
3) Optionally mark extra points — a table, a wall, wherever your 3D elements will sit.
4) Record your shot.
5) Review the take, align the grid, and send it to Blender or export as USD.

Good to know
• Requires a device that supports Google Play Services for AR (ARCore).
• Video resolution and frame rate depend on what your phone provides for AR tracking — typically up to 1080p.
• Works best in well-lit spaces with visible texture; blank walls and dark rooms are harder to track.
• The Blender add-on requires Blender 4.2 or newer.
