Meno della metà di quel che in media usiamo per una singola doccia.Douma, città satellite di Damasco, è diventata famosa durante la Guerra Civile siriana per gli attacchi chimici del regime di Bashar al-Assad sugli oppositori. Visitarla adesso è un’esperienza devastante. Viverci è peggio. Sul pendio c’è un grande edificio con la scritta verde Oxfam. E’ un serbatoio per la distribuzione dell’acqua. Dopo 15 anni, a Douma i rubinetti hanno ricominciato a zampillare. «Non è soltanto una questione di quantità – spiega Marco Magnano di Oxfam -. I bombardamenti, l’eccessivo uso di fertilizzanti, hanno inquinato le falde. Ci sono molti pozzi che pescano acqua che ad usarla provoca reazioni sulla pelle o addirittura avvelena.
