Pada Rabu (25/6/2025), Mayor Jenderal Ali Shadmani, salah satu komandan Korps Garda Revolusi Islam (IRGC) meninggal dunia.
Dikutip dari Al Arabiya, Shadmani meninggal beberapa hari setelah ia mengambil alih peran dari Gholam Ali Rashid yang terbunuh pada hari-hari pertama serangan Israel.
Pada 17 Juni 2025, Israel mengklaim telah membunuh Shadmani dalam serangan terhadap pusat komando di Kota Teheran.
Israel menggambarkan Shadmani sebagai komandan militer paling senior dan tokoh yang paling dekat dengan Pemimpin Tertinggi Iran, Ali Khamenei.
Konfirmasi kematiannya terjadi sehari setelah gencatan senjata yang diumumkan Amerika Serikat (AS), mengakhiri 12 hari konflik terbuka antara Israel dan Iran.
Markas Besar Pusat Khatam al-Anbiya yang dipimpin Shadmani mengatakan bahwa komandannya mati syahid setelah mengalami luka-luka akibat serangan Israel.
Lembaga tersebut bersumpah akan membalas dendam atas apa yang disebut sebagai tindakan kriminal.
Sebelumnya, Iran juga kehilangan Jenderal Hossein Salami, Panglima Garda Revolusi Islam (IRGC) Iran serta sejumlah ilmuwan nuklir akibat serangan Israel.
Gugurnya sejumlah tokoh penting ini dianggap sebagai pukulan berat bagi Iran setelah fasilitas nuklirnya dibombardir.
Itulah sebabnya Iran langsung membalas Israel dengan meluncurkan Operasi Janji Setia III.
