Vor dem Koalitionsausschuss plädiert die NZZ-Journalistin Beatrice Achterberg dafür, die rein ideologische CO₂-Abgabe in Deutschland endlich abzuschaffen. Diese Fantasiesteuer sei eine „Steuer auf die Luft“ und zocke den Bürger nur ab. Der CO₂-Preis von 55 Euro pro Tonne belaste die Bürger unnötig, obwohl Deutschlands Anteil am globalen Ausstoß gering sei. Während Länder wie China deutlich mehr Emissionen verursachen, bringe die deutsche Klimapolitik kaum globalen Nutzen. Eine historische Chance zur schnellen Entlastung der Bevölkerung.
