Spanyol Larang Israel Ikut Ajang Olahraga Dunia, Tolak Standar Ganda seusai Ricuh Balap Vuelta

Dikutip dari Politico, seruan tersebut disampaikan Diaz pada Minggu (14/9/2025).
Ia mengatakan, Israel tidak bisa mengikuti kompetisi selama masih melakukan genosida di Jalur Gaza.
"Masyarakat Spanyol telah memberi pelajaran kepada dunia dengan melumpuhkan Vuelta," kata Diaz di Instagram.
Hal senada juga sudah disampaikan oleh Menteri Olahraga Spanyol sekaligus juru bicara pemerintah, Pilar Alegria, pada Kamis (11/9/2025).
Ia mengatakan, tim-tim Israel seharusnya dilarang dari dunia olahraga, sama seperti tim Rusia yang dilarang pada 2022 setelah negara itu menginvasi Ukraina.
Alegria menyoroti adanya standar ganda untuk dua kasus ini.
"Sulit untuk menjelaskan dan memahami adanya standar ganda," kata Alegria kepada stasiun radio Spanyol Cadena SER.
Ia pun ingin penyelenggara Vuelta memblokir Israel-Premier Tech dari kompetisi.
Hanya saja keputusan seperti itu hanya dapat diambil oleh badan pengatur dunia balap sepeda, UCI.
Sebelumnya, aksi pro-Palestina dan protes anti-Israel telah menghentikan putaran terakhir dari ajang balap sepeda Vuelta Spanyol 2025 di Madrid.
Para demonstran memanfaatkan sorotan internasional untuk mengecam operasi militer Israel di Gaza, yang telah berlangsung selama hampir dua tahun.
Ternyata, aksi protes massa terhadap Israel mendapat dukungan dari pemerintah Spanyol.
Menteri Luar Negeri José Manuel Albares menegaskan dukungannya jika tim Israel dikeluarkan dari Vuelta.
