Hal itu disampaikan Chandra saat dihadirkan secara daring sebagai saksi dalam sidang kasus tersebut dengan terdakwa mantan Menteri Perdagangan Tom Lembong di Pengadilan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Jakarta, hari ini, Senin (23/6/2025).
Adapun alasan perlu hadirnya Jokowi dalam persidangan disebut Chandra lantaran keterangan saksi yang menyatakan bahwa ada arahan dari presiden kepada Inkoppol untu membantu proses pemenuhan gula saat itu.
Selain merekomendasikan agar Jokowi dihadirkan dalam persidangan kasus ini, Chandra juga mengatakan bahwa penugasan impor tanpa rekomendasi merupakan penyalahgunaan wewenang.
