In pochi secondi un imponente palazzo di otto piani, che ospita migliaia di lavoratori e lavoratrici, collassa su se stesso in quello che è il crollo accidentale con più vittime nell’ultimo secolo. Muoiono più di mille persone. Alcuni sopravvissuti vengono tirati fuori subito, altri dopo giorni, altri ancora dopo settimane. Quel giorno vengono effettuate sul posto numerose amputazioni per liberare le persone dalle macerie. Anna, 16 anni, perde una mano mentre Pakhi, 25 anni, entrambe le gambe.Questo disastro ha scatenato proteste e rivolte in tutto il mondo e ha rappresentato un importante punto di svolta per la consapevolezza comune sui diritti e sulle condizioni dei lavoratori nel settore tessile.
