Whilst tiger populations have increased from 3200 in 2010 to 5700 today, they remain highly vulnerable. Habitat loss and fragmentation have drastically reduced their range, and human-wildlife conflict, poaching and the illegal wildlife trade now threaten them further.

WWF is supporting brave people in the field who strive to protect tigers; from the rangers monitoring tigers in the forests and volunteer Bagh Mitras (known as Tiger Friends) who mitigate human-wildlife conflict, to the experts campaigning to reduce demand for tiger parts. The more friends tigers have, the safer they will be.
