AMERIKANISCHE REGIERUNG: Ein Wort sorgt für Ärger! Indien ist wütend auf J.D. Vance Aussage!US-Vizepräsident J.D. Vance hat mit Äußerungen über ausländische IT-Fachkräfte die indische Regierung gegen sich aufgebracht.
Vance bezeichnete IT-Fachkräfte in den USA, darunter viele Inder, als vertraglich gebundene Dienstboten. Konkret verwendete er den Begriff „Servants“.
Das indische Außenministerium nannte die Wortwahl „zutiefst beleidigend“. Der Begriff erinnere an die Ausbeutung von Arbeitskräften während der Kolonialzeit.
Hintergrund ist das Vorgehen der US-Regierung gegen den Missbrauch von Arbeitsvisa.
Vance blieb bei seiner Wortwahl. Am Freitag wiederholte er die Formulierung erneut.
